Water retention, also known as edema, occurs when excess fluids accumulate inside the body. It can cause swelling in the hands, feet, ankles and puffy bags under the eyes. In women water retention can also occur during pregnancy or before menstruation.

Water retention in the body not only adds to weight, but also burdens the heart and internal organs.

This problem often begins to appear in people after their 50s and is very closely associated with excessive salting and an unhealthy lifestyle.

The drink that will remove retained water from the body (7-day cure)

An excess of sodium in the body has many negative side effects – besides burdening the heart and blood vessels, visible manifestations are weight gain, swelling and often unsightly cellulite.

Because of the disruption of water balance and excess water in the body, the fat layer is unevenly distributed, which makes you appear outwardly as if you were much heavier.

Natural diuretics

This type of “obesity” is not uncommon and is very common in people who like to salt their food a lot. To address this problem, excellent natural diuretics are available (they break down excess sodium and therefore water from your body). They remove excess fluid from the body, reduce swelling and regulate water turnover. There can be up to 4 liters of excess fluid in the body. You should know that fluid can be significantly reduced already within 1 week. Do not forget to consume an adequate amount of fluids during this period – ideally plain water!

For minor removal of water from the body, for example lemon, ginger, green tea or watermelon are suitable – however they are not enough to help quickly. For this purpose, bay leaf is suitable. Green tea with bay leaf is a savior for anyone who needs to address the problem of water retention in a short time and thus relieve not only their health, but also gain a nicer figure.

Tea for weight loss

You will need:

  • 800 ml of water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 tablespoons of green tea
  • 1-2 bay leaves

Bring the water to a boil and add all the ingredients. Cover and let steep for 15 minutes (like regular tea) Strain the finished tea through a sieve or gauze and drink 3 times a day: morning on an empty stomach, after breakfast and before bed. Drink for 1 week and always take a 1-2 week break between courses (you will see for yourself).

Green tea and bay leaf are diuretics and cinnamon is needed for flavor (but also great for weight loss). Its aroma, sometimes barely perceptible, calms even a very urgent appetite. The tea therefore protects against overeating, speeds up metabolism and removes excess water from the body. Its taste may seem a bit unusual to you, but a few sips are enough and you will get used to it. It is pleasant.

Other foods that fight excess water in the body

Celery stalks

Cranberries

Cranberries are rich in antioxidants and vitamin C.

These substances help remove excess water from the body. They also protect the body’s cells from damage caused by toxins and free radicals produced by your body during the metabolic process.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon contains chromium, which helps control appetite. Cinnamon also helps boost immunity and is a great aid for detoxification.

Asparagus

The high potassium content in asparagus helps prevent unnecessary water retention in the body.
