The pork comes from Belgium, according to the rapid alert system; it is literally meat full of antibacterial substances. Chef Jozef Bíreš confirmed detailed and very extensive inspections. However, one significant thing complicated the whole situation.
Pork meat
This problem with pork meat full of chemical substances arose in Slovakia last month
“The experts’ warning applies specifically to 21 tons of this meat. So far, however, only 3.4 tons of pork meat filled with chemicals have been found. “
All pork is being checked, because the faulty shipment was imported already at the end of May, but the warning was issued only now.
This is an extraordinarily long time, confirmed Jozef Bíreš, Director General of the State Veterinary Administration of the Czech Republic.
It was a shipment of chilled pork.
It was chilled pork. Inspectors are trying to find where the pork may be present.
“At present, tracing/registration is being carried out, regardless of whether it was sold as fresh or went into meat processing. According to many experts’ opinions, a large amount of this meat will already have been eaten.”
Antibiotic substances
Antibiotic substances are banned from use in livestock intended for slaughter, because these substances cause the human body to become much more resistant to antibiotic agents. That means that next time, if you fell ill and needed help from antibiotics, they would not work.
Since 2006, strict rules for handling antimicrobial substances for animals have applied in the EU. It is required that, in any case, a month pass after they have been infused before they are consumed. Furthermore, there is a risk of reduced sensitivity or diminished effectiveness when, over a long time, you ingest even small amounts of toxins.
