Hypertension is a real scourge of our time. Older and weather-sensitive people are the most affected. Unfortunately, no truly effective treatment for hypertension has yet been invented. Adrenaline enters the bloodstream, the pulse goes through the roof and the blood pressure rises as well.

Sometimes the pressure spikes on its own even without stress. Usually in this case they recommend taking a pill. But are there gentle ways to lower blood pressure without a pill? Yoga can help us with that. In yoga for beginners there are several different breathing exercises, the so-called Pranayama. They really allow you to quickly lower pressure and improve the overall condition of the body.

It’s better to do this exercise every day than to wait for an attack. It is simple and does not require special training. A 1-minute breathing exercise that lowers blood pressure.

Sit up straight on a chair. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath, counting to three. Then hold your breath for a count of twelve. Then slowly exhale over six counts.
