It may seem unrealistic, but blood type and its subtype really have a significant influence on a person’s personality. Because of the presence of special antigens on red blood cells in the blood, four blood groups arose – A, B, 0 and AB. Even within a single group there are many other types and subcategories. Therefore you cannot reveal an entire personality based on blood type. However, we can focus on a few main facts that will help you understand the connection between blood type and the functioning of the body and its psyche.
Transfusions and blood donation
The topic of blood groups is very extensive and sometimes confusing. To begin with, let’s look at the individual groups from the perspective of potential donation and receiving a blood transfusion.
- Group A: can receive blood from group A or 0, but can donate to people with group A or AB.
- Group B: can receive blood from group B or 0 and can donate to B or AB.
- Group 0: can receive blood only from type 0 and is a universal donor. It can donate blood to anyone.
- Group AB: is a universal recipient of blood, i.e. can receive blood from any other group, but can donate only to those with the same group.
As is apparent, the composition of each group’s blood is simply different. When donating and receiving blood we must follow strict rules. Their different composition affects us as individuals more than we might think.
Characteristic personality traits
Blood type gives certain predispositions to personality. You cannot rely solely on this factor; of course many other influences also contribute to the formation of characteristic traits. Take a look at the possible trait predispositions according to blood group.
People with blood group A are empathetic and pay attention to efficiency and organization. Thanks to these qualities they make natural leaders. Group B, on the other hand, is flexible toward change and tends to settle disputes. Its members are friendly and activist-minded. People with group 0 tend to be practical at all costs. They are rather assertive, polite and compassionate toward others. With people of group AB you will encounter rationality, calmness, inner strength and thoughtfulness.
Suitable diet for a given blood group
You should also tailor your diet according to the composition of your blood. Every body requires something different. You can address its needs from the perspective of blood group. For those with group A, a vegetarian diet with consumption of fish and an adequate amount of dairy products is suitable. Conversely, their body benefits least from legumes, spicy food and coffee. Group B is recommended dairy products, mutton, fish, vegetables and tea. Alcohol and preservatives harm them the most. If you have group 0, you should eat all kinds of meat including fish and plenty of vegetables. Avoid milk, processed foods and excessive overeating. Group AB should seek out especially fresh and organic products. Conversely, they should limit fried foods as much as possible.
Handling stressful situations
No one likes stressful situations. But there are people who can handle them quite well. For others they can cause significant problems, even health-related ones. How we cope with stress is also partly determined by blood type. Essentially there are only two possibilities: either you handle stress, or you do not.
This is how it is for the individual groups:
- Handles stress well: B, AB
- Has difficulty coping with stress: A, 0
People with blood group B are usually calm; in worse cases deep breathing helps them. The problem only arises during prolonged stressful situations. When they reach the limit of endurance, they explode. People with blood group AB react similarly. A person with group A is very prone to high cortisol levels, and therefore cannot handle stress. Group 0 also copes very poorly with stress and changes. It is prone to outbursts of anger, especially in response to disruption of its plans.
