Obesity is one of the most discussed topics of the last few years. Times are increasingly hectic and so often, when we can’t keep up, we reach for pre-prepared meals or food from fast food places and the only thing that happens is that we get fatter and fatter. Many people thus repeatedly struggle with excess kilograms and are in a vicious circle, because they don’t even have time to cook healthier meal options, let alone move in any way and perform at least some sporting activity. The biggest problem of obesity is precisely the huge intake of energy from the consumed food and the insufficient energy expenditure in the form of physical activity. The worst situation is among people who have sedentary jobs. For this reason, unfortunately, according to statistics almost every third person is obese. These are very shocking facts.

Why and how fat is stored in the body

If we eat highly caloric food and do not expend any energy, which would increase our caloric expenditure, then our body stores it with the help of fat cells as unused energy for later. And the more of such foods we consume, the more fat cells are created. The greatest danger is that our body will start to store fat massively even in muscles and internal organs, which becomes dangerous for us. This is the so-called visceral fat and it can then cause:

  • cancer
  • depression
  • cardiac arrest
  • and other very serious diseases

In the past fat stores in the body were desirable because thanks to them we were able to survive longer in adverse freezing conditions and at times when we did not have enough food. But that no longer applies and so it is unnecessary for us to create these stores.

How to get rid of excess fat

The foundation of everything is increasing energy expenditure, that is, increasing physical activity; only then will we achieve that the number of fat cells will decrease and we will lose weight. There is a simple equation that says that energy expenditure must always be greater than energy intake. If you stick to this equation, the results are guaranteed. Remember that for our body to function every day it needs sufficient energy, which our organs, muscles, heart, lungs and others consume. They use this released energy to be able to function. If we increase our energy expenditure, what will happen is that our metabolism will speed up and our body will begin to draw this energy from stored fat cells and we will gradually lose weight. That is why it is so important to watch our diet and physical activity. Only then can we achieve positive results and lose weight effectively without the yo-yo effect. So no more drastic diets, but follow the simple equation that will help each of you.
