Every woman likes to feel sensual and sexy in her underwear, so none of us should be without a thong in the underwear drawer. Although they are not among the most comfortable underwear, men can’t resist them. But what else besides discomfort does wearing thongs bring, and in which situations should you rather forget about thongs?
Infections
If you are prone to urinary tract infections or yeast infections, you should avoid thong straps in the crotch. In women who keep getting infections, one of the main risk factors is also choosing the wrong underwear. Straps easily transfer bacteria directly from the anus to the urethra.
Pay attention to the material
If thongs are your favorite piece of underwear, don’t forget to choose the material they’re made from. Many women don’t pay attention to underwear material, which is a big mistake. Choose underwear made of cotton, not synthetic fabrics. Synthetic fabrics unnecessarily trap moisture against the crotch, which leads to health complications. However, if you have an event where lace straps are simply a must, wear them only for the necessary time, or at least choose straps that have a cotton gusset sewn into the crotch.
Exercise
Once you get dressed in the morning, think about what awaits you that day. If you know you have a gym session planned, bring a change of underwear, because exercising in thongs is not comfortable for you or your crotch. Too-tight clothing in this area is not very breathable and during exercise you produce more sweat, which leads to moisture — and it is in this area of the female body that yeast begins to grow, causing an unpleasant infection.
Skin infections
Only a small percentage of thong wearers know that long-term wearing can cause small warts around the vagina and anus. And why is that? These small warts occur especially in places where the fabric constantly rubs against the skin. In some women they can also appear on the breasts due to an improperly chosen bra size.
Menstruation
Surely you will agree that not every woman feels comfortable during this time, so why needlessly make this period worse? During this time your crotch is also more prone to inflammation, to which, as we wrote above, wearing thongs also contributes.
Sexually transmitted diseases
Tight thongs can, if worn for extended periods, cause small wounds and abrasions in the vagina and anus, and as you know, sexually transmitted diseases are transmitted through sexual intercourse and infected blood.
