39-year-old Englishwoman originally planned to warn her colleagues at work with a single video to be extremely careful about coronavirus infection. Although it is said everywhere that the most at-risk groups are pensioners and sick people with weakened immune systems, more and more cases are being recorded in younger age groups, which is also being observed here in the Czech Republic.
After the recording of the young patient surfaced on the internet, she decided to document her entire 10-day stay in the hospital.
The woman was taken to the hospital after she developed extraordinarily severe symptoms of the respiratory disease Covid-19.
Although she is not yet 40 and until recently lived a completely normal life, the new type of virus literally brought her to her knees.
The patient admitted at the start of the video that without being connected to a mechanical ventilator she was not able to breathe on her own.
She was troubled by a shocking dry cough, wheezing, sore throat and unbelievable fatigue.
What is worse, confrontations with the doctors did nothing to put her at ease, as she mostly received the answer “I don’t know” to her questions about the further course of the illness. Although it really looks terrifying, the Englishwoman states that by the time she began documenting everything she already felt much better than at the very beginning.
“We don’t appreciate breathing until we lose it,” says the woman infected with coronavirus, who knows very well what she is talking about. In an edited series of several recordings she urges people not to downplay the risk of infection, because neither young age nor good fitness are a guarantee of absolute safety. The brunette, who is currently recovering at home in the warmth, asks everyone to rather stay at home and take the chance to protect themselves while there is still time.
