It’s summer and high temperatures that force our body to excessive sweating. For this reason a large portion of the population uses deodorants and antiperspirants. Such a spray or roll-on under the arms can greatly help with unpleasant sweating and the associated odor. Even though a wide variety of products appear on the market, there are still many deodorants that leave unpleasant white marks. Especially on dark clothing such a stain may not look very nice, so it’s good to know how to effectively get rid of such possible stains. Let’s take a look at proven methods together.
Don’t throw away your clothes
If you’re about to throw your black or dark T‑shirt into the trash because it has an unpleasant white deodorant stain, then stop. Such a radical solution isn’t necessary if you know how to remove white stains. You can easily handle it in the comfort of your home in a short time. A white stain is a very unpleasant matter for many people because it doesn’t look nice and, moreover, it ruins the appearance of the entire outfit. Try one of these methods.
Salt method
This effective method is suitable for stains that have already penetrated the fabric more deeply and are difficult to remove. Moisten the stained area on the garment with water and then sprinkle it with salt, which you surely have at home. The longer the salt stays on the stain, the better. Ideally leave it there for several hours. Then moisten the stain again, add another pinch of salt and rub with the fabric. Afterwards put the garment in the washing machine and wash it in the usual way. Finally let it dry. You’ll see that the stains will be gone. The method is suitable for both dark and light clothing.
Method with old pantyhose
Another method is also popular and very effective. It reliably removes deodorant stains from the fabric, making it beautiful and clean again. This method is especially suitable for situations when the deodorant has only just been absorbed into the fabric. It is therefore suitable for fresh stains that have not yet set deeply into the fabric. It’s a very quick and simple technique that will remove all stains or traces of deodorant in a short time.
All you need for this method are old nylon pantyhose or socks. Take them in your hand, twist them into a ball and use this ball to start rubbing the stain on the fabric. Imagine that the ball is a rag and that you want to clean the stain with that rag. In a short while the stain will start to disappear right before your eyes. You will watch how, by gradually rubbing the fabric with the pantyhose, the stain fades. However, note that this method is really only suitable for fresh stains that haven’t yet set deeply into the fabric.
Shop consciously
Try both methods if you need to clean your laundry of deodorant stains. For the future, however, we recommend that when purchasing these products you make sure in advance whether they cause stains or not. That way you’ll save yourself a lot of trouble and time down the road.
