With advancing age we face many changes in our appearance. The first wrinkles, sagging skin and a double chin appear! A double chin affects both men and women and causes us to look older than we actually are. Try our simple tricks and avoid the development of an unsightly double chin.

What causes a double chin?

A double chin is a fairly common condition that occurs when a layer of fat forms under the chin. The formation of a double chin often occurs with weight gain, but you don’t have to be overweight to have it. An important factor is also age, when elastic and collagen fibers decrease and the skin becomes lax. In recent years, however, younger generations have also suffered from double chins. This is caused by excessive use of mobile phones, laptops and tablets, when we look at the screen of a device for extended periods with our head bent down.

Exercises targeting a double chin

Whatever the reason for your double chin, there are exercises that strengthen and tone the muscles and skin in the chin area. Perform the following exercises regularly every day and the first results will not be long in coming.

  1. Neck rotation

Turning the neck clockwise and counterclockwise is a very easy and effective way to get rid of a double chin. A major advantage is that you can practice this exercise virtually anywhere and anytime you want.

  1. Kissing the ceiling

A funny name for the exercise, but easy to perform. When sitting, tilt your head back so your mouth is pointing toward the ceiling. Now pucker your lips and „send kisses“ toward the ceiling. Send 15 kisses and then return your head to the original position. Repeat several times a day.

  1. Chewing gum

The simplest and most fun way. Chewing your favorite gum for one hour every day works wonders. So what are you waiting for? Grab your favorite gum and chew for an hour.

  1. Stick out your tongue

Sit comfortably and stick your tongue out as far as you can. Hold for 3 to 5 seconds. Repeat at least 10 times.

Exercise alone is not enough

Remember that in both prevention and the fight against a double chin a healthy lifestyle is inevitably important overall, whether it is regularly doing the exercises, a balanced diet and maintaining an appropriate weight, or maintaining healthy posture (especially of the chin) when using the aforementioned electronic devices.
