We all know how healthy and tasty ripe walnuts are. Few, however, know what amazing properties walnuts have when they are green, that is precisely at this time – in June and July. Green walnuts and leaves and young walnut leaves have long been used to make various beauty and health products. We’ll advise you how best to use them and what they actually can do.

Healing oil for the skin

Nourishes the skin, also used for better healing of burns and scars.

Preparation:

  • Prepare 7 green walnuts, 2 carrots, olive oil (or another oil).
  • Quarter the walnuts, grate the carrot, put them into a bottle and pour in the olive oil.
  • Close the bottle and leave it for about a month in the sun; the oil will take on a dark color.

The oil also helps with psoriasis, eczema, wrinkles, age spots, herpes.

Honey from green walnuts

In this case the honey is primarily a preservative. The effects of the walnut help with anemia, with deteriorated blood counts, with sore throats, respiratory diseases (especially bronchitis), hypothyroidism.

Preparation:

  • Prepare 40 green walnuts, which you cut into quarters.
  • Put them into a glass jar.
  • Pour in 1/2 L of honey.
  • Close the jar and let it stand for 40 days (not in the sun, for example in the pantry).

Take 1 teaspoon in the morning (on an empty stomach). The walnuts will break down, release their juice, and the consistency will be like syrup.

Liqueur from green walnuts

This popular treat is drunk for reduced thyroid function, for digestive tract diseases (stomach pain, ulcers), for headaches, for menstrual pains, or simply to improve mood.

Preparation:

  • Prepare 1 L of homemade spirit, 12 green walnuts, 400 g sugar, 4 cloves, 5 coffee beans, 2 packets of vanilla sugar, 1 organic lemon.
  • Wash the walnuts, cut them in half, slice the lemon into rounds.
  • Put everything into a bottle, shake, close well and leave in the sun for 40 days.
  • Occasionally shake the bottle so the sugar dissolves and everything blends well — do not open the bottle so the alcohol does not evaporate.
  • Then strain and consume by the spoonful or as an aperitif with an ice cube.

Tea from young walnut leaves

Young walnut leaves contain tannins; the freshest leaves have the best effects, but they can also be dried. The tea is drunk for digestive tract problems, for diarrhea, for wounds that heal poorly, for gynecological problems / discharges /, and also as a compress for inflamed eyes, if you have acne problems.

Preparation:

  • Chop the leaves finely.
  • Pour 2 dl of boiling water over 1 tbsp of leaves.
  • Let steep for 2 hours, then strain.
  • Drink 1 tbsp 3 times a day before meals.

Against foot sweating

Preparation:

  • Put 5 tbsp of chopped leaves into 2 liters of water, together with oak bark.
  • Boil for about 10 minutes.
  • Wash the feet in the lukewarm bath and let them dry.
