Dandelions. Make a great oil from them. Dandelions are usually regarded by gardeners as a perennial weed. But anyone who keeps getting rid of them is making a mistake.
The dandelion has therapeutic abilities to reduce fever and inflammation and to relieve swelling, engorged breasts and tense back and neck muscles.
Its anti-inflammatory properties are very beneficial in the treatment of arthritis and gout. There are also a number of other remedies for this disease that we wrote about here. You can easily make this dandelion miracle at home.
Simple preparation
Yes, dandelion oil can be bought. But why would you do that? This herb is so widespread that you can go to any meadow or park. Just be careful that the dandelions have not been chemically treated with pesticides or are not near a road.
Ingredients
- freshly gathered dandelions
- almond or olive oil
- a half-liter glass jar
- a sieve
- a fine cloth
- a glass bottle
Slow preparation
In dry sunny weather, collect the dandelion flowers.
Spread the collected flowers on a cloth or kitchen paper towel and let them sit for 24 hours.
Dandelions retain a lot of water and need time to dry. If you do not allow them to dry properly, you will end up with an overly watery oil. Expect the flowers to shrink considerably. Then transfer them into a jar. Pour oil over the flowers up to the top and close the jar. Place it in a sunny spot for 3 weeks. When the flowers begin to brown, strain the oil through cheesecloth into a sterilized dark glass bottle. Store the medicinal dandelion oil in a cool, dark place.
Quick preparation
If you don’t want to wait, you can use a faster method. Add vegetable oil and dandelion flowers to a pot. Heat the mixture in a water bath for 30 – 60 minutes on the lowest heat. Then put it into a jar and leave it in the sun for one day. After that, proceed as in the previous case. Strain the mixture and keep it in a cool, dark place.
How to use
If you suffer from liver disease and gallstones, or suffer from constipation, as well as gastritis and other digestive tract problems, take 1 tablespoon 3x a day before meals.
For joint pain, rub the painful areas with the oil 2 – 3x a day (this oil also has an analgesic effect). The oil can also be used in salads – they will have a truly exceptional taste.
