If you haven’t yet heard of the small miracle called ginger water, then you haven’t heard of one of the best ways to improve your health easily and deliciously.
Several scientific studies have confirmed the amazing health benefits of ginger and a number of different natural recipes you can make from it.
Health benefits of ginger
The most important effects of ginger on the body include:
- supports digestion
- prevents nausea (including during menstruation or pregnancy)
- relieves pain
- reduces inflammation in the body
- treats vertigo
- helps with colds, flu and nasal congestion
- has strong anti-cancer effects (very effective against prostate cancer)
- many others
It turns out that regular consumption of ginger even helps prevent the development of cardiovascular diseases.
It also lowers levels of bad LDL cholesterol in the blood, i.e. low-density cholesterol, which most threatens the arteries by forming deposits in them.
What atherosclerosis is and how ginger prevents it
Atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries, is a serious circulatory system disease.
In this condition cholesterol deposits clog the arteries and at the same time reduce their elasticity.
Such arteries are then more prone either to complete blockage or to rupture, leading to a heart attack or a cerebrovascular event (stroke).
Researchers have found that ginger is very effective at preventing the formation of arterial deposits thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties.
Arterial deposits from LDL cholesterol form precisely when inflammation is present in the body. Ginger targets both problems — cholesterol as well as inflammation.
It has even been shown that in suppressing inflammation ginger is as effective as well-known anti-inflammatory drugs based on ibuprofen.
However, unlike ibuprofen, ginger does not have many of its adverse effects such as the risk of stomach bleeding, intestinal damage, or sudden cardiac arrest.
What else ginger can do
In addition to the already mentioned effects, ginger is also very good at reducing knee pain and symptoms of osteoarthritis.
Antioxidants found in ginger can deactivate the inflammatory factor TNF-alpha, also known as tumor necrosis factor alpha.
This is a signaling protein that plays a significant role in inflammation throughout the body, including the development of cancers that are closely linked to inflammation.
Besides its anti-cancer effects, ginger also effectively suppresses symptoms of depression, prevents the onset of Alzheimer’s disease and the development of inflammatory bowel syndrome (or the leaky gut syndrome).
Since ginger blocks the mentioned protein, it effectively prevents not only the onset of these diseases but also successfully treats many of them.

In this article we will show you a recipe for making ginger water, which we think is one of the best ways to consume it.
Ingredients
For preparing ginger water you will need the following ingredients:
- a 3 to 4 cm piece of ginger root
- fresh juice from 1/2 a lemon
- 0.5 to 0.7 liters of water

Preparation
Follow these steps:
1. Clean and grate the ginger.
2. Place the grated ginger into a jug or other glass container and pour in the clean water.
3. Add the lemon juice and honey and stir well so the honey completely dissolves.
4. Let the ginger water chill in the fridge a little or add a few ice cubes and you can serve it.
Usage
Take this water in amounts of 1 to 2 dcl several times throughout the day. Preferably before meals to support the production of digestive juices and also between meals.
Prepare fresh ginger water every day.
You can use it preventively or as part of the treatment of the conditions mentioned in this article.
Unfortunately, some people may be allergic to ginger.
In that case, of course do not use it and choose another one from the many recipes on our site that contain other substances with similar medicinal effects instead of ginger.
