Of the many health effects we would like to emphasize mainly the following:

Cholesterol

The high content of omega-3 fatty acids reduces the level of bad cholesterol in the blood.

At the same time they suppress inflammation, preventing the buildup of deposits and the clogging of blood vessels. These could later trigger a heart attack or stroke.

Triglycerides, high blood pressure and blood sugar levels

Consumption of flaxseeds has shown a strong effect on blood triglycerides.

These substances increase the risk of heart disease and the development of metabolic syndrome, which manifests as high blood pressure and high blood sugar levels.

Flaxseeds can reduce blood triglyceride levels by an incredible 25 to 60%.

Diabetes

By regulating blood sugar, flaxseeds effectively reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.

If you already happen to suffer from diabetes, they significantly improve your symptoms. In some cases they can even completely eliminate or at least greatly reduce the need for insulin administration.

Pain and chronic joint inflammation

Just 3 tablespoons of flaxseeds contain as much omega-3 fatty acids as 0.5 kg of fish.

Omega-3 fatty acids effectively suppress inflammation in the body.

If you suffer from chronic joint pain, arthritis or rheumatism, a month of consuming flaxseeds will lead to a significant improvement in your health and a reduction, or even complete disappearance, of pain.

The best thing about them is that they not only prevent cancer but can also treat it. There are several alternative cancer therapies based precisely on flaxseeds.

One of the best known is Johanna Budwig’s recipe, in which flaxseed oil is mixed with quark or plain yogurt. Using this recipe she was able to cure a large number of oncology patients.

Osteoporosis is a common problem especially in women after menopause. Even a month of consuming flaxseeds stops bone thinning and restores their remineralization.

Although flaxseeds contain a large proportion of fats, these are healthy fats that are not stored in the body.

How to consume flaxseeds

Flaxseeds have a relatively tough shell. In their natural form they would simply pass through the body and their healing properties would remain unused.

Therefore they need to be ground before consumption, for example in a poppy seed grinder or a pepper grinder. They should be ground just before eating, otherwise the healthy fats will oxidize and become harmful.

The recommended daily dose is approximately 2 tablespoons of ground seeds per day.

The second way to consume them is flaxseed oil. For the same reason — to prevent oxidation — it must be kept in the refrigerator after opening and ideally consumed within 1 month.

Flaxseed oil is always consumed raw, as high heat degrades it. You can add it to salads or mix 2 to 3 teaspoons into plain yogurt.
