These days healthy eating is talked about constantly and almost everywhere. Oils such as coconut or vegetable oil have become famous, successfully replacing pork lard, butter and ordinary oil. But grandmothers didn’t have modern oils and still managed to cook very tasty dishes. Their food contained all the substances the human body needs.

Bacon

Doctors in the winter period recommend paying attention especially to animal products, which can be safely used to prevent illnesses and to fight infections. Such a product is fresh bacon.

Benefits of animal fat

Animal fat contains a huge amount of vitamins A, D, E and also carotene. This type of fat helps maintain your immune system and improves the overall functioning of the body, especially in cold periods.
There has been much debate that animal fat is harmful, and many “myths” have arisen that we still believe, but they are not true at all. We will debunk these myths for you.

Lard is responsible for obesity

This is definitely not true. Lard, like other products, has a very negative effect on the human body only in excessive amounts. To put it simply, you would have to eat a kilo of bacon every day for negative effects to begin to show on you. Healthy people who eat animal fat do not suffer from digestive tract, liver or kidney problems. The average person should eat 10-30 grams of animal fat per day.

Lard is very heavy on the stomach

In healthy people lard or fat does not cause any digestive problems. Fat is actually useful for our organism, partly because it melts at the temperature of our internal environment. It is worth mentioning that people who suffer from excessive bile production should be especially careful.

Lard is stored as subcutaneous fat

And who said that’s bad? Subcutaneous fat is actually a unique structure in which there is a rich reserve of the rare arachidonic acid. This substance is indispensable for our body, because without it the body cannot “formulate” a kind of immune response to a stimulus. This acid is also important for proper metabolism and a healthy cholesterol balance in the body.

Fat contains a large amount of cholesterol

As with any animal-derived product, fat contains cholesterol. However, this content is not as large as we may have thought until now. For comparison: in 100 grams of bacon there are approx. 1120 milligrams of cholesterol. But you don’t have to be afraid. Doctors have already confirmed that the amount of cholesterol in the blood does not depend on the amount of fat you consume. Much more important is the metabolism of cholesterol itself. The body should acquire as many nutrients as possible and recycle them properly. It is in this process that the acids contained in fat help, namely linoleic acid and arachidonic acid.

Bread with lard is the worst combination

This claim is also not true.
The combination is very beneficial for our body. Both products have good effects on our body, provided that we are healthy. For those who are trying to lose a few kilos, fat is also beneficial. In small amounts it is an excellent source of energy, for example before exercising. Consider that in the past men, for example when they went to work in the forest with wood, always had a slice of bread and bacon with them. Although they consumed such a meal fairly often, they had plenty of energy, strength, were healthy and had good immunity.
