A garden full of old trees that are drying up or not fruiting as you expect? Of course you can try various tips to rejuvenate the trees, but it will be easier and faster to grow new ones from these unusable trees. However, it is necessary to act while the trees are not completely dried out yet, then just watch how a new and young tree grows that will bear healthy fruit for many years. Try this method of orchard renewal yourself and see!

Healthy young trees for pleasure and harvest

There is nothing more beautiful than watching trees in bloom in spring, whose abundant flowers attract insects and bees. The buzzing and the first rays then give hope that the harvest will be plentiful. All this only if the trees are strong and not troubled by fruit-growing ailments. From old trees, however, you can plant a new orchard; you just need to know how. It is important to choose trees that are still viable and to select long, strong, young branches on them that will serve as the basis of new trees. For cutting, use a sharp knife or special gardening pruning shears; make the cut diagonally.

K zakořenění postačí plastová láhev

After making the cut, clean the branch of leaves and other lateral shoots. Use a bare branch about 25 cm long so that it is long enough to be inserted into a regular 1.5-liter plastic bottle. Pour about 5 cm of water into the bottom of the bottle and close the bottle with a plastic cap. Regularly change the air in the bottle by opening the stopper. You can add a rooting accelerator sold in garden centers to the water, but ordinary cinnamon with stimulating effects will do the same job.

Planting in the garden in 2-3 weeks

When to expect new roots? In roughly 2–3 weeks the first shoots will begin to appear, which is the signal for planting in the garden — leave the saplings in the plastic container and choose a well-protected spot. You can use a flowerpot and wait to plant in the ground until after the seedlings have strengthened. New trees should not be in direct sunlight to avoid damage during the summer months. Plums, apricots, and cherries can be planted this way.
