The necessity of caring for your feet
It is important to constantly keep in mind that it is the feet that allow us to get through our often very demanding daily schedule. For that we should repay them not only with appropriately chosen footwear, both for outdoors and for at home, but also occasionally treat them to a restorative bath and subsequent care. If the feet are only tired, a bath will help them relax and regenerate, but if swelling, blisters or cracks appear on the skin of the soles, one should be alert, because without proper care the problem could worsen or an unpleasant infection could enter the body through them. Attention should also be paid to the nails to ensure they have the correct length, are cut properly and do not become ingrown.
Recipe for a home foot bath
If you want to give your feet a well-deserved relaxation, you can of course visit a trained pedicurist. However, if for some reason that is not comfortable for you or you prefer home methods, you can try this simple procedure.
You will only need
- 4 liters of water, and
- 3 tablespoons of baking soda.
The benefit of baking soda is that it softens the water and has a relaxing and anti-inflammatory effect.
Having soft and smooth skin on your soles has never been easier. Simply sprinkle the baking soda into the prescribed amount of hot water, let it dissolve, and then place your feet in the bath for at least 15 minutes.
After this time, if needed, you can use a pumice stone to remove hardened skin, after which you can apply a cream with exfoliating and moisturizing effects to the feet.
Repeat the entire above procedure every day for one week, then skip one week and continue again the following week. Keep this cycle so that it is repeated a total of three times. After completing the course you will be able to assess for yourself how effective it is.
