Many of us ignore this widespread plant, or try to destroy it in the garden. Very few know its amazing healing abilities. This weed effectively flushes toxins from the body and has anti-inflammatory properties. It is burdock , which grows from spring to autumn and can be found, for example, on riverbanks, in forests and even in less maintained gardens, etc.

Besides its proven medicinal abilities, burdock root is considered one of the safest plants for health , because so far no side effects have been found in the body during treatment. One of its most recognized health benefits is its overall healing power for cervical spondylosis.

Here is how to proceed with this treatment:

Soak freshly picked burdock leaves in alcohol for 10 – 15 minutes until well saturated. Place a thin cloth on the neck to which you apply a well‑drained leaf. Tie it so that the compress stays in place and leave it on until morning. The treatment should not exceed 4 – 6 consecutive days. It is recommended for disc diseases and for rheumatism.

Here are some other medicinal effects of burdock:

Thanks to the content of active substances that regulate blood sugar levels , burdock root tea is recommended in the fight against diabetes. Consume 3 cups of tea daily for 15 days each month.

2. Urinary and kidney infections

Burdock contains polyacetylenes, substances with antibiotic properties , which successfully treat conditions such as cystitis and urinary tract infections. To fight infections, internal use is recommended – 1 liter of tea per day , as well as external use – daily baths.

3. Pain

The plant has a strong anti-inflammatory effect, so burdock is useful in treating a wide range of pains, such as: rheumatism, dislocations, sprains, insect stings, arthritis, gout.

Bring water to a boil. Then add 2 tablespoons of chopped burdock root. Let steep for 15 minutes, soak a gauze pad in the solution and apply it to the painful area. Equally effective are compresses made from burdock leaves, which should be washed beforehand and pounded with a mallet.

4. Psoriasis

Combine burdock root and St. John’s wort in equal proportions. Take 6 teaspoons daily on an empty stomach before the main meal. The treatment lasts 90 days and 60% of the daily food intake should consist of vegetables, fruit and unprocessed grains.
