We can say that cancer is one of the most common causes of death. Although a healthy diet can help prevent certain types of cancer, other factors, such as genes, can play a much more significant role. Once cancer appears, it is difficult to cure. If you know the early symptoms, you can detect it very early and thus help its rapid treatment. If you notice any of the following symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
Lump under the skin
Lumps in the breast area are more likely to be found by those who regularly examine their breasts. Regular self-examination and knowing the correct methods to do it can help you detect problems and changes. Medical experts say that self-examination can also be performed on other parts of the body, allowing you to discover lumps before they grow into large tumors. Therefore you should check for unusual bumps and lumps on your body.
Itchy skin
This can be a warning sign of cancer, because the body perceives cancer similarly to bacteria and the immune system fights it with white blood cells that destroy cancer cells. That is why these areas are red, warmer, change color and you feel tension or itching.
Wounds that do not heal
You should be very careful if you notice a skin injury that does not heal over a long time. It may be a sign of growing cancer. It means your immune system is prioritizing fighting the cancer and does not have time to deal with smaller injuries. See a doctor immediately.
Changes in bowel movements
Anything unusual related to bowel movements should alert you to the possibility of cancer growth, especially if it lasts longer than two days. If you find blood in the stool, it may be rectal cancer and you should seek professional care.
Changes in urination: Do not ignore them. You should know that the function of the bladder clearly reflects your health. If you notice changes in the urine stream, its smell, or blood or foam, you should see a doctor immediately.
Bleeding
Watch out for unexplained bleeding — for example from the nipples, the urethra, and similar. Unnatural blood discharge is a sign of a health problem.
Changes in voice
Throat cancer can present as a hoarse voice that alters your usual voice. If you notice it yourself, or someone points it out to you, consult your attending doctor.
Persistent cough
A persistent cough can be a symptom of these types of cancer: lung, esophagus, throat, stomach. If you suffer from a painful cough and sometimes cough up blood, visit a doctor. A cough that lasts more than two weeks may be more than just a cold.
