French doctors have encountered new symptoms of the novel coronavirus.
Their patients, who had confirmed Covid-19, did not suffer from the traditional symptoms at all.
They did not have a fever or respiratory problems, but instead developed a rash and hives.
Dermatologists and venereologists from France report a possible discovery of new symptoms of Covid-19. They treated patients who were dealing with a rash resembling chilblains; some also had hives.
As reported by the British portal Daily Star, for many of them the skin problems were the only sign of the coronavirus. Others had, in addition to the rash, common symptoms such as respiratory problems, fever or a dry cough.
They can be dangerous “An analysis of a number of cases showed that this may be a manifestation associated with the coronavirus. We warn the public and doctors so as to help isolate these potentially highly contagious patients as soon as possible,” the French dermatologists said in a joint statement.
Experts have already pointed to several other symptoms of the coronavirus during the pandemic.
Besides the most common ones, the infection can manifest as a loss of taste and smell, diarrhea, or testicular pain in men. American doctors found that Covid-19 can also cause bluing of the lips and face; in Spain they encountered purple blisters on the soles of the feet.
