There is still a relatively large number of rare 2 000 CZK banknotes in circulation. Some of them can simply be tucked into a wallet and ultimately fetch many times their actual value.
Rare banknote
However, their price changed with the new year, numismatist Roman Veselý said.
“People often come to us with the idea of an astronomical amount for this banknote.
The reality in the new year is that we now buy it for less money,” he specified.
Everyone would undoubtedly like to make money by unknowingly carrying a rare banknote that has a much higher price than its face value.
Series E
„These are two-thousand-crown notes of the valid Series E, which were printed only in a limited number of sheets. These banknotes were only 12 500 pieces and all have the designation E and two digits. They also have three zeros, then one, two or three digits. less than 12 500 pieces, “clarified Roman Veselý of AUREA Numismatics.
Paradoxically, at the beginning of last December there were approximately 12 500 of them in circulation. „Now there are fewer of them. From time to time we come across them, but the value has decreased. But you can still make a decent profit on the banknote.
What is complicated is that it looks identical to the standard 2 000-crown banknote, which has series E 01 to E 23 and the last three digits do not reach a number higher than 500.
Valuable catch
If we find such marked two-thousand-crown notes, it is a really valuable catch. “It is rare, because there are not that many of such a few thousand crowns. The others were printed at million-scale costs.
For comparison, of course the bank is silent about where they come from. No one really knows and the Czech National Bank is silent on this topic, “added Roman Veselý
