We present a recipe for excellent dough from which you can bake sweet rolls, cakes or even pizza. The choice of filling is up to you. Do you feel like something sweet or something savory? You can decide at the last moment, the dough will wait for you in the refrigerator, where it will keep for up to 3 days.
Ingredients
- 500 ml of milk
- 5 cups of wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of oil (sunflower)
- 1 sachet of dried yeast (11 g)
Preparation
In a bowl we mix 4 cups of flour and the dried yeast. Then we gradually add the warm milk, sugar, salt and sunflower oil. Mix everything thoroughly. Finally, slowly mix in the last cup of flour.
Spread the dough on cling film or cellophane and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 to 3 hours. However, this dough can be left in the fridge for up to 3 days and taken out when needed.
Tips for further use
This leavened dough can be used to make sweet buns, the so‑called Honzovky, which can be filled with jam, poppy seed, nut mixture, quark or plum jam. Divide the dough into approximately equal balls. Fill each bun and place them next to each other in a greased baking dish. Finally brush with water and bake in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes.
Another idea is quark cakes. Roll the dough into discs and fill them with quark mixed with a little sugar and lemon zest; you can add raisins. Shape the cakes and place them on a baking sheet. On top of each cake you can add a little jam and a buttery crumble.
If you feel like making a savory version, the simplest way is certainly pizza. Roll the dough into a cake about 0.5 cm thick. If you want a tomato base, you can use a mixture of ketchup and tomato paste. You can add vegetables, cold cuts and cheese. A pizza with a cream base is also great, to which onion, nuts, green pepper and cranberries go well. There are no limits to your imagination!
