We all certainly have at least one roll of aluminum foil in the kitchen. Most often we use this silver foil for baking and storing prepared foods. It keeps heat well and doesn’t release liquid or grease. And yet, did you know it can be used in other ways? Discover the full potential of this useful helper made of aluminum.
If you’re waiting in vain for a signal
Is your Wi-Fi weak? Place a piece of folded aluminum foil behind the router. It will block all signals going the wrong way and give you faster internet. However, aluminum foil can also interfere with some signals. For example, it can be used to protect your car from theft. Just wrap it around the buttons of the remote. Even the cleverest thief won’t be able to bypass them.
Removes all buildup
Sometimes a sponge and dish soap just aren’t enough. Aluminum foil helps remove even the largest and most stubborn dirt. Sprinkle baking soda into a dirty pot or pan and add water. Then scrub it thoroughly with a small piece of aluminum foil. You can achieve a similar effect by placing crumpled foil in the dishwasher. The chemical reaction between aluminum and the detergent will perfectly polish all the cutlery.
Adds a beautiful shine
Grill grate: briefly run it over the grate. It will be like new.
Liquid glue bottles: after use, use it to wipe sticky residue from the neck. This prevents buildup and a stiff bottle opening.
Silver cutlery: simply polish them with foil. They will shine again.
Jewelry: place it into a bowl lined with foil on the inside and add baking soda.
Beneficial for your health
Do you suffer from migraines, joint pain or a cold? Wrap your feet in aluminum foil. It sounds strange, but this measure really helps and your troubles will disappear in an instant. You’ll get even better results if you wear “steel” socks at night. Foil placed behind the refrigerator will also resist the cold. It will work a bit better and you will enjoy pleasant warmth.
Keeps paint in place
Aluminum foil can also help when painting rooms, doors and other spaces. This can be especially difficult around handles or sockets. However, this inconvenience will become a thing of the past if you wrap these parts in aluminum foil. That way the paint won’t get to them. Foil will also help you with other creative tasks. You can use it to effectively sharpen scissors. Just fold it eight times and cut it several times.
Gets rid of various pests
Do you have cats in your garden and don’t know how to get rid of them? Scatter pieces of aluminum foil around the property. Uninvited guests won’t approach it because they hate walking on foil. Aluminum doesn’t just repel cats; it also drives away ants. Simply tuck it behind the kitchen unit and into holes through which insects can get into the kitchen.
Other uses
Can’t find a funnel? No problem. You can easily make one from aluminum foil — just roll it up and use it. Aluminum foil can be used in the kitchen (and other rooms) in other ways. If you place several pieces of foil around your dishes, it will catch all the dirt and grease that runs off the dishes and thus make them easier to clean. Wrap the banana stem with it. It will stay fresh much longer.
Cut it and place it under the feet of furniture. It prevents scratching the floor when moving.
While frying eggs, place a piece on the pan. The oil stays only on the surface.
Wrap bread in it when you take it out of the oven. It will retain a higher temperature and richer flavor for longer.
