There are people who grow pickling cucumbers in their garden and who always have a modest, ordinary harvest. And then there are people who do the same and their harvest is enormous. How do they do it and what is the reason they harvest more than anyone else? It’s not so much that they have better soil, nor is it that they have a different cucumber variety. It’s also not because they take more care of everything than others. That reason is somewhere completely else. And you can finally get to know it too and find out how to have so many cucumbers that you won’t keep up with canning them.
It’s in the fertilizer!
The secret has finally been revealed and it has finally been discovered what is behind such a perfect and large cucumber harvest that some have and others do not. The reason is connected with the use of fertilizer. Now you know what the trick consists of. And it is obvious that we also know how best to prepare the fertilizer for cucumbers. You will surely confirm yourself that the subsequent harvest will again be noticeably higher than the current one.
What will you need?
It is a great novelty that this cucumber fertilizer is, of course, not chemical, but is a completely natural thing.
As is known, nature has great power and demonstrates it even in gardening.
Moreover, you can be sure that if you use this fertilizer, your cucumbers will be completely safe for health. They will be completely harmless and, as many will say, they are so-called organic and cliffs even ecologically cultivated, without any chemicals and without any admixture. To make this possible, prepare these two things:
- 1.5 liters of water
- 0.5 liter of onion peels
Preparing fertilizer for cucumbers is easy
You already know what is needed. And how about the preparation itself? The basis is the effort to get as many active substances from the onion into the water as possible. Therefore put the peels into a pot, pour the given amount of water over them and then slowly bring to a boil. Once the water starts to boil, reduce the flame and keep it like that for approximately 10 – 15 minutes. Then turn off the stove and let the mixture cool.
When it has room temperature, strain it into another container.
Top it up with clean water so that the total volume of the fertilizer is 5 liters. Only then will you achieve the correct proportion of active substances in the water. And at that point your cucumber fertilizer is ready.
How to use?
Very easily. Just water your cucumbers with this miracle. Not only will they have enough nutrients, but all pests will also avoid them. We recommend always mixing a portion of the concentrated solution with regular water and watering the cucumbers. And when this natural onion fertilizer runs out, there’s nothing simpler than preparing more from peels.
Also, onion peels need not go to waste. After cooking and steeping them you can chop them into smaller pieces and sprinkle them into the soil around individual cucumber seedlings. This will also help release into the soil everything that is active.
What else do gardeners advise?
After the seedling growth phase, when 3 – 4 leaves appear, cucumbers should be treated with the following solution:
- Mix a few drops of iodine
- 20 g of laundry soap and 1 l of milk into a container with water
- Spray the seedlings, which will protect them from diseases, molds and support flower production.
In the evening soak an older loaf of bread in a container of water, in the morning remove the bread, add a drop of iodine (if you don’t have it, skip), dilute 1 l of the liquid in a bucket of water and water each plant. The remaining liquid can be stored in a cool place. With this solution you can treat cucumbers every 2 weeks and the cucumbers will be strong until autumn.
Old gardeners also include this recipe. Dilute 2 liters of whey and 150 g of sugar in a large bucket of water. Spray and pour over the cucumbers. After this treatment, cucumbers and peppers form fruit primordia faster.
