Stop buying various types of overpriced fertilizers. Even though some of them say they are universal, that’s not the case — there will always be plants you can’t pour this fertilizer on, especially specific plants such as cranberries or Canadian blueberries. So if you’re looking for a fertilizer that is natural, not overpriced, and can really be used to water the whole garden, it’s better to make your own fertilizer based mainly on yeast. It will cost you only a few crowns and a little time you’ll need to devote to making it.
Why yeast
Baker’s yeast is a fantastic substance that helps plants grow beautifully. Baker’s yeast contains a huge amount of various nutrients that all plants need. Well-grown plants will have lots of strength they can devote to flowering and to the growth of tasty, healthy fruits or beautiful fragrant flowers. It’s also good to know that yeast consists mainly of fungal microorganisms that like warmth, so it’s not good to use them in cold weather. If you decide to fertilize with natural baker’s yeast, always do so only in nice weather.
Preparation of fertilizer from yeast
Preparing the fertilizer does take a bit of time, but you’ll get the best fertilizer for your plants. Pour 5 liters of hot water into a bucket and dissolve 1 kilogram of yeast in it; if you don’t have yeast available, you can dissolve the same amount of ordinary bread. Dilute 1 liter of this solution intended for fertilizing with 10 liters of water — it can now be cold, but must not be hot. Then just water all the plants you grow in the garden with this brew. If you decide to use dry yeast, that’s possible, but the ingredient ratio is a bit different. In that case use 10 grams of yeast and 2 tablespoons of sugar per 10 liters of warm water, in which the ingredients dissolve better and faster.
