Losing weight is a challenge, but maintaining your newly achieved weight can be even more difficult. Imagine weighing more than 270 kg, every step is difficult, standing exhausts you, and ordinary movements like swimming or bending are almost impossible.

That was exactly the case for Nikki Webster, who at 34 weighed an incredible 272 kg. Her health was critical and she was practically fighting for her life.

Food addiction almost killed her

Nikki admitted that her enormous weight was caused by a food addiction. “My weight completely destroyed me. My body was in terrible pain, I hated it. I realized I was slowly killing myself with my food addiction,” Nikki said openly.

Her life was turned upside down when she was invited to the TV show ‘My 600 lb Life’. This reality show follows the stories of people with extreme obesity and their fight for a healthier life.

Moving to Texas and surgery on the horizon

When Nikki realized how close she was to a dangerous threshold, she decided to move to Texas so she could be closer to Dr. Nowzaradan, a specialist in extremely obese patients. Nikki believed that a gastric bypass surgery would be the solution to her problems. However, it wasn’t that simple.

Doctors told her that before the surgery itself she would have to lose at least 23 kg on her own. Nikki didn’t shy away from this task and achieved the required weight loss within three months. After successfully meeting this challenge, she was able to undergo the operation.

Battle with her own fears and successful surgery

Nikki was afraid that her old habits would return and she would start gaining weight again. She was also very worried about the surgery because her good friend Michael died after a similar procedure. Despite these fears, Nikki decided to have the operation, which fortunately was successful.

Over the following year Nikki lost an incredible 90 kg. Her transformation was visible at first glance – from a person who had trouble moving, she became a woman with new energy and determination to continue the fight for better health.

Therapy and further surgeries as the key to success

Nikki knew that if she truly wanted to succeed, she had to get to the core of her food addiction. She worked with a therapist who helped her overcome old habits and prevented her from reverting to a harmful lifestyle.

After losing more than 160 kg of excess weight, Nikki also underwent surgery to remove excess skin, which took off another 25 kg. This procedure further motivated Nikki to continue her new, healthier lifestyle.

Happy ending and a new love

Today Nikki weighs 88 kg and her journey to health continues. But the cherry on top is the fact that she recently found the love of her life, Marcus, whom she also married. Her story is an incredible inspiration for anyone fighting obesity or other health problems.

Nikki is a great example that it’s never too late to change your life. Losing weight and changing your lifestyle is a difficult task, but if we have real motivation, we can overcome even the biggest obstacles.
