Winter will be at the door in some time and doctors recommend that we start paying attention to animal-derived products, which we can also use as prevention against illnesses and in fighting infections.

One of these products is fresh bacon!

The fat from bacon contains a large amount of vitamins A, D, E and carotene. It helps keep the immune system fully functional and improves overall bodily function, especially during this cold period.

There are many legends about the dangers of bacon, which often frighten precisely precisely those who delight in eating bacon. Today we will tackle this issue and unveil all the myths.

1) Fat causes obesity

That’s not entirely true: fat, like other products, has a negative effect on the human body only in excessive amounts. For healthy people who do not suffer from problems with the digestive tract, liver, and pancreas, this fat will be only beneficial. The daily dose of fresh bacon for a healthy person ranges between 10-30g per day.

2) Bacon – a very heavy meal

The opposite is true: in healthy people it does not cause digestive problems. Bacon is incredibly beneficial for the body because it melts according to the temperature of our body. It is not suitable for people who suffer from problems with bile production.

3) Bacon – a firm consistency

Who says that’s bad? Subcutaneous fat has a unique structure that is rich in the rare arachidonic acid. This substance is essential for our body because it is part of our immune system and is also necessary for cholesterol metabolism.

4) It contains a large amount of cholesterol

Like other animal products, bacon contains cholesterol. Its amount is not as enormous as you might think. In 100g of fresh bacon there are 70-100mg of cholesterol. For comparison – 100g of beef kidneys contains 1126mg of cholesterol.

Doctors have long confirmed the fact that the amount of cholesterol in the blood and tissues does not depend on how much bacon you consume.

Much more important is cholesterol metabolism. The body must take as many useful substances as possible and process them correctly. The acids contained in the fat will help with that – linoleic acid and arachidonic acid.

5) Bread + bacon = a dangerous combination

This tasty combination does not harm our body at all. Both products will cause no problems, provided that the person is healthy. For those trying to lose weight, bacon will serve as an excellent source of energy. Bacon with vegetables is the best choice!
