Patrick always said that his wife was the most beautiful being in the whole world. She was his best friend, but also a reliable partner. What won her over, however, was his aloofness and innocence.
Their relationship
After a short time he realized that he had fallen headlong in love with her. Their love began as a friendship; they could talk together for hours.
In their conversations, sincerity, honesty and openness took center stage. They were apart for a while because Patrick went to New York, where he wanted to advance his career in ballet.
Because Lisa refused to give up on Patrick, she wanted to be as close to him as possible. They later married, and because they had no problems they began to dream of having children.
Dreams dashed
Unfortunately, that dream did not come true for them and Lisa miscarried twice. In response to this, Patrick began drinking, smoking and even tried drugs. He gave up some habits, but he quit smoking when he learned of his diagnosis. It was cancer.
Because the illness was in its fourth stage, the news was so shocking that he still participated in the final filming of a TV series in 2008, in which he played an FBI agent.
During this period between work he also underwent chemotherapy. To improve his health he consumed proteins on his doctor’s recommendation. However, the disease was in an advanced stage.
Retreat to the ranch
Nevertheless, Patrick was patient, but he did not use painkillers. In addition to his work on the series, he, together with his wife, also wrote memoirs.
He liked to describe himself as a “wild man”. He wanted to experience as much as possible in life, because as a curious person he wanted to understand everything.
However, Hollywood did not respond to his needs. After filming ended he went to the ranch, where the disease began to slowly consume him.
By his side until the very last moment
His beloved wife was by his side this time as well until the very last moment, that is, until his death.
The love they both showed despite hardships and life trials still evokes joy and respect today.
This period was difficult for Patrick, but for Lisa it was a double trial. Nevertheless, both were brave and tried not to show their pain outwardly.
