As a banana ripens, its content changes
You’ve probably heard that ripe bananas contain more sugar than unripe ones. Is that true?
They also contain more antioxidants that protect cells from free radicals, slow aging, and reduce the risk of heart disease and heart attack.
But that’s not all
Bananas with a dark spotted peel also produce a substance called TNF, which translates as “tumor necrosis factor”.
What is it?
This substance can fight cancer-causing cells and plays an important role in strengthening our immune system. It also increases the production of white blood cells.
So if you come across overripe bananas in the store, you no longer have to be afraid of them. These bananas are several times healthier than purely yellow or green bananas.
