Lemon trees are considered to be among the oldest trees on our planet, offering a wide range of health benefits.
You’re probably already heard about the beneficial effects of regularly drinking lemon juice diluted with water or using lemons for cosmetic purposes.
Today we will show you how, using lemon peel, you can effectively get rid of various types of rheumatic pains in the joints, muscles, or tendons.
First, however, let’s say a bit more about lemons in general.
Why do we need lemons in our diet?
This tropical fruit offers us a lot. It contains vitamins A, C, B1, B3, B6, as well as minerals calcium, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus, and other beneficial nutrients such as pectin.
These substances strengthen your immune system, which protects you like a shield. Moreover, daily consumption of lemons improves the overall functioning of the body, especially the intestines and the liver.
Lemons are indeed a sour-tasting fruit, but in the body after digestion and metabolism they leave an alkaline residue. This is mainly due to their low sugar levels and content of minerals such as potassium and magnesium.
The alkaline effect on bodily fluids and tissues ensures that their pH increases and prevents problems arising from over-acidification – for example various yeast infections or mycoses.
Now let’s take a look at how to use lemon peel to get rid of chronic pains.
Lemon and the treatment of joint, muscle and tendon pains
Many people don’t know this, but lemon peel contains substances that help alleviate pain, especially of the joints, muscles and tendons. These are mainly certain types of oils that have anti-inflammatory and soothing effects.
There are 2 ways to use lemon peel to alleviate this type of pain.
1. Direct application
Grate the yellow part of the lemon peel and apply it to the affected painful areas using a bandage.
The peel should be left on for at least 2 hours.
2. Peel infusion in oil
Take a glass container and place the grated or finely chopped yellow part of the lemon peel into it.
Then pour olive oil over it, seal the container and let it stand for 14 days.
Before going to bed, apply such oil to the affected areas and cover it with gauze or a bandage. Then remove the wrap in the morning.
Repeat the first or second method until the pain completely disappears. You will be pleasantly surprised how soon it will happen.
