Winter is approaching and everyone is thinking about how to save on heating, which will run more during the winter than before. Heating an entire apartment or house can therefore cost several thousand over the winter months.

A sufficient supply of fuel will ensure a warm home

Before winter it is important to obtain enough wood or coal if you have them as an energy source. Those who have central heating don’t have to worry about anything, you just need to bleed the heating system. However, there are several tricks that can save you on heating. If you heat regularly, it is important to follow the individual steps.  In the video you will find a procedure that will save you on heating. This way you can heat rooms as needed. When assembling this small stove you must proceed carefully; when heating a flame could appear, and you need to reckon with this situation. You will need:

  • A small candle, a few connecting screws
  • A cooling fan, for example from a computer
  • A battery to power the material
  • A connecting wire and also bricks

You can also save in other ways, just place the furniture correctly

In apartments there is usually a problem with furniture being too close to the radiator. If you cannot move the furniture completely, place it at least 10 cm from the heater. Also try aluminum foil – it reflects heat back into the room.

Vacuuming radiators will work the same way. Dust prevents them from spreading heat. If you have larger gaps in the windows, you need to seal them, otherwise you can lose up to 2500 crowns each winter. At night it is ideal to pull down blinds or shutters. During the day keep them open because the sun’s rays warm the air.

Ventilate briefly but intensely. 5-10 minutes daily is enough, and the goal of ventilation is to let fresh air in, but not for so long that the walls cool down significantly. Closing doors between rooms will also save a lot of heat that would otherwise „escape“ into a cold hallway or entryway.

A problem can arise if you follow the prescribed instructions and feel that you’re still heating more and more. Replacing an old boiler may help, since modern ones consume several tens of percent less energy.
