Cancer still ranks among the most insidious diseases, because despite many advances in treatment there is still no definitive cure that can reliably eradicate it

Cancer

Perhaps there is no other disease that has been the subject of a larger volume of research than cancer. The reason is the number of people it affects.
During this extensive scientific inquiry it was discovered that some foods are exceedingly effective at destroying cancer cells.
This is a very important finding, because chemotherapy has two major problems.

Two major problems of chemotherapy

The first problem of chemotherapy is its high toxicity to the body. As a result, it kills not only cancer cells but also healthy cells.
Its use sometimes leads to destruction of vital organs and the patient then dies. Not from cancer, but from the consequences of the treatment.
And the second problem is the fact that chemotherapy may kill cancer cells, but not the cancer stem cells. From those, new tumors form.
After initial success of chemotherapy a recurrence of the disease occurs, during which the original chemotherapy no longer works. The result is again the death of the patient.

Solution to the disease

The solution to this problem are foods that research has shown can kill not only cancer cells but also the aforementioned cancer stem cells.
And moreover, they have no adverse effects on the body. The body can then fight cancer itself when it is not simultaneously being destroyed by chemotherapy. The chances of a complete cure are then much higher.

Green tea

Green tea has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries to treat various ailments. Only recently, however, have scientists discovered its ability to fight cancer.
Researchers from the medical center at Baylor University found that the active substance in green tea, EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate), destroys cancer stem cells and helps prevent the development of resistance to chemotherapy.
EGCG is also present in black tea, but there is much more of it in green tea.
The above research was focused on the treatment of colorectal cancer, but scientists believe that green tea works just as well for other types of cancer.

Ginger

Preclinical research has shown that a substance contained in ginger is up to 10,000 times more effective at killing cancer stem cells than the chemotherapy drug Taxol, which is commonly used to treat breast cancer.
It is a substance called 6-shogoal. It is formed when the ginger root is cooked or dried. Its effect is achieved at concentrations that are not toxic to healthy cells.
Therefore, if you want to benefit from ginger in cancer treatment, do not use it fresh; instead dry it or cook it first.
An ideal method is to peel a piece of ginger, grate it, pour boiling water over it and steep for about 5 to 10 minutes. Strain the tea prepared this way, sweeten with honey and flavor with lemon juice.

Turmeric

Curcumin is the active substance found in the spice turmeric. Its amazing property is that it is able to destroy cancer stem cells without damaging normal healthy cells or healthy stem cells needed for tissue regeneration.

To enhance the effect of turmeric it should be mixed with a pinch of pepper, which contains the substance piperine that acts as a catalyst. The effect can be further increased by heating or mixing with oil, for example olive oil.

Red grapes

The substance found in red grapes called resveratrol was shown in a study conducted at Pennsylvania State University to kill cancer stem cells.
Resveratrol is found in grape skins and seeds. It was able to destroy cancer not only in petri dishes but also in living mice.
Scientists believe that their discovery will lead to the development of new drugs mainly for colorectal types of cancer, which are among the most common oncological diseases.
The effect of resveratrol was especially strong when scientists applied it to cancer together with other extracts from grape seeds. Moreover, there was no damage to healthy cells.

Other cancer-killing foods

The previous four foods are among those that showed the strongest effects against cancer. However, there are a large number of other foods with proven anti-tumor effects.
Recall for example blueberries, carrots, coffee, grapefruit, mint, cherries, onions, garlic, pepper or thyme.
The prevalence of foods that have an effect on suppressing cancer reminds us how powerful nature itself can be in addressing the greatest health problems of our time.
