Cancer is one of the most feared diseases, however it is also a very common illness nowadays. Not all causes that lead to cancer can be prevented, but we definitely know how to prevent at least ten of them. These are at the same time the ten most common causes by which this insidious disease arises in the human body.
1. UV záření
A beautiful tan is for some people the number one priority in summer. Tanned skin, however, carries great risks and one of them is skin cancer. When the cells of your skin protect themselves from sunlight, they release melanin, which causes the brown coloring of the skin. This brown coloring, however, primarily does not represent an aesthetic added value of your skin, but its defensive reaction.
If you are not careful and have been sunburned several times, you should be cautious. People who have been sunburned at least once every two years have a three times greater risk of skin cancer. On average up to 90% of skin and lip cancer can be caused by UV radiation. You can protect yourself by avoiding direct sunlight and by regularly using cosmetic products with a strong protective UV factor.
2. Obezita
Obesity is the second most common reason for the development of cancer. You ask why? A recent study from Trinity College in Dublin proved that the cells responsible for destroying cancerous tissue become clogged mainly with fat and thus become non-functional.
Although doctors are trying to find a drug that would prevent fat from accumulating in these rare cells, the best medicine and prevention is to be careful and avoid obesity by maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The most common types of cancer that can be caused by obesity are colon, kidney, pancreas, gallbladder, breast, uterus and also ovarian cancer.
3. Kouření
Smoking is one of the main causes of cancer. Cigarette smoke contains toxins that are dangerous not only for the development of lung cancer but also for other organs. Most commonly these are cancers of the cervix, breast, lips, tongue, kidneys, urinary bladder, skin, liver.
Smokers have up to 15 to 30 times higher probability of developing lung cancer. Smoking is one of the most dangerous factors, contributing up to 90% to mortality due to lung cancer.
4. Infekce
Infections in the body generally lower immunity, but among the most dangerous are HIV, HPV, hepatitis C and also Helicobacter pylori. These are infections that you can protect yourself against by responsible behavior. You most often can acquire these infections through risky sexual behavior and therefore the best prevention is to be careful when choosing a sexual partner.
5. Alkohol
It is generally known that alcohol increases the likelihood of developing cancer in the human body. Some claim that small amounts are beneficial, but again it is very individual. Most often alcohol is associated with cancers of the liver, kidneys, pancreas, colon, larynx, pharynx, esophagus, oral cavity and in women also the breasts.
6. Malý přísun vlákniny ve stravě
A balanced diet is the key to health. Doctors recommend eating enough vegetables and fruit every day so that the body has sufficient fiber and vitamins. If your diet contains little fiber, over time this can lead to a higher risk of colon, rectal, pancreatic, prostate and also breast cancer.
7. Ionizující záření
To some extent we cannot avoid this radiation, because it naturally flows from the earth, space and the sun, or from nuclear weapons testing. What is good to avoid, however, is medical irradiation such as X-rays, mammography, CT and radiotherapy. These procedures are sometimes necessary, but it is good to undergo them only in those cases.
8. Polotovary a předem zpracované jídla
All fast foods are a slow and tasty doom for our society. People have less and less time and therefore increasingly seek quick alternatives to satisfy their hunger. Whether it is sugary drinks, fast food, smoked foods or ready meals. All these treats increase the chance of cancerous cells forming and research confirms that up to 20% of cancer cases are caused by favoring unhealthy fast food.
9. Znečištění ovzduší
This factor may seem beyond our power to influence, but the opposite is true. If we begin to behave more ecologically, our air will be cleaner and our health better. Small particles present in the air can get into the bloodstream and can cause lung cancer, heart disease, or brain failures.
10. Zanedbávání pohybu
If you find at least a few minutes for movement every day, your body will be healthier and you will be full of energy. Various studies prove that regular exercise reduces the risk of developing cancer. Besides, it is a great prevention against mental discomfort and cardiovascular diseases.
