Do you also know that unpleasant feeling when the food is finished and all that’s left is a dirty pot from which the residues just won’t come off? Believe me, you’re not the only one who deals with dirt daily at home and, in worse cases, with burnt-on stains on the bottom and sides of your favorite pot.

Since ancient times people have had to clean up their dishes and looked for various ways to make this unpleasant task as easy as possible. This is how the first cleaning agents came about. However, not everyone in the past could afford expensive chemical cleaners that promised miracles. If you visit your grandmother with a question about cleaning dishes, her answer will consist of simple homemade recipes. Today we have prepared for you exactly one of these homemade recipes, tried and tested over the years and by experience.

We need

100g baking powder,
100g mustard powder,
5 l of water

Instructions

First prepare a bowl into which you pour 5 l of water. The bowl should be large enough to fit the pan or pot you want to clean. The water in the bowl should be boiled.

Add the baking powder and mustard powder to the water, stir and let it simmer on low heat. Immerse the pan you want to clean in this mixture and leave it there for 15-30 minutes, depending on the degree of soiling. Let the mixture work on the dirt.

After the elapsed time, remove the pan from the liquid and clean it with a sponge. The dirt should come off easily.
