If your white socks or underwear seem so dirty that you’re considering throwing them away, don’t rush! There is a great way to restore the bright white color to your old clothes. This method will help not only with socks but also with tablecloths or white canvas sneakers. However, be careful with delicate fabrics – this method is not suitable for them.
What will you need?
- Laundry soap
- Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
- 9% vinegar
How to do it?
-
Pre-cleaning
Soak the socks in water and wash them by hand with soap. Although the soap will remove surface dirt, the color may remain gray and stains will still be visible. -
Baking soda
Rinse the socks, sprinkle them with a layer of baking soda and thoroughly rub it into all the stains and dirty areas that need whitening. -
Vinegar
Then pour 9% vinegar over the socks. Let the mixture sit for approximately 20 minutes, depending on how large the stains are. -
Second wash
After the time has passed, rinse the socks and wash them again with soap. This will achieve the final whitening effect.
Why does this method work?
Thanks to the combination of soap, baking soda and vinegar, you will achieve a great result. This method is not only simple but also harmless. You can also use it when washing children’s clothes. Stains on tablecloths and white sneakers will be a thing of the past, and your laundry will stay white longer than when it was new.
Try this trick and enjoy brilliantly white laundry without effort!
