This year the spring is very dry and the nights are still cold. Cucumbers do not like the cold, so do not rush their planting. These plants are sensitive to low temperatures. Even the slightest frost can completely destroy them! Soil temperature before sowing should be at least 15 ° C. When sowing cucumbers directly into the ground always place 3 seeds in one hole. The distance between holes should be about 30 cm.
Experienced gardeners advise, based on long-term observations, which days are the most suitable for planting cucumbers so that you have a plentiful harvest. By following these recommendations you can achieve better growth for the cucumbers and a much larger yield.

Cucumbers need in the garden a warm, sunny, moist and wind-protected spot. The soil should be enriched with humus. Suitable pH for cucumbers is 6,0 – 7,2. To ensure a longer harvest, sowing can be spread into several stages at intervals of 1 – 2 weeks. This method also ensures that if the cucumbers from the first sowing happen to be frost-damaged, the most recently sown cucumbers will survive.
