Its ingredients are a sign that it will get you back on your feet and at the same time you will understand that it is not complicated to prepare. For a strong and tasty garlic soup you will need:

  • 2 tablespoons of lard or a little oil
  • 1 whole head of garlic
  • 3 medium potatoes
  • 1 l of broth
  • 4 bay leaves
  • salt and pepper

Preparation method

Garlic soup is not complicated at all, on the contrary. First start by heating a piece of butter in a larger pot. Meanwhile peel and crush all the cloves of garlic from the whole head. Garlic smells great and tastes even better; just preparing it will make your mouth water. Now pour in the broth; you can use bouillon or prepare a strong beef broth in advance, which is especially good in case of illness or a hangover. Next, drop the bay leaves into the pot, add a little salt and also a little pepper to taste. Before the soup is thoroughly cooked, peel and cut the potatoes into small cubes. Add them to the soup and cover the pot with a lid. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat after 5 – 10 minutes of cooking. Everything is done when the potatoes are soft.

Serve the soup while still hot

The soup should always be served hot. To improve it you can add croutons and sprinkle it with cheese. It depends on your taste.
