Knee pain is a major obstacle in everyday life. Because of it, a person cannot pursue their hobbies, can’t sleep, and in the morning is tired and angry at the whole world. The pain appears regularly and for some it troubles them continuously, only its intensity changes.

Whether the cause is a chronic disease, an injury, or various inflammations and other problems, the result is always the same – unbearable pain.

That’s why we asked you directly to write to us how you manage to keep the pain at bay with available methods!

Miracle ointment that can help in just 1 night

My mother advised me – she always knew how to handle every health problem even without medicine. I didn’t believe that such a homemade mixture could help, but it really worked for me. In fact, I felt relief already after the first use. I don’t know how it works, but it works – it’s worth a try, and for me it’s a miracle ointment!

We need:

  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of plain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda

Procedure:

Just mix and apply to the knee. Wrap in plastic wrap and cover with gauze or a scarf. Go to sleep as usual and in the morning just rinse with lukewarm water. It’s a perfect thing if you have current pain – and for men it even works for water in the knee. If you have very sensitive skin try first on the wrist to see if the mixture causes any problems. Repeat for 4-5 days in a row, then you should be free from unpleasant pain. If it returns, repeat this simple procedure. I warmly recommend it.

One more tip from my husband – also homemade. When his wrist hurts, he makes an ointment from plain pork lard and chili powder. It’s excellent for warming up, as a night compress.

Mighty Comfrey

Plant it once and it will help you for years: This plant is a miracle for rheumatism, bone spurs and periodontitis, relief comes in as little as 3 days!
Dig up the comfrey root in October, clean it from soil and, while still fresh, just slice it and soak it in alcohol or in Alpa or Lesan. Let it steep for 2 weeks at room temperature. Then use it to rub on painful spots. I even gave a jar to my mother-in-law and it helped her a lot with a sore wrist. If you cannot get comfrey, ask at the pharmacy for ointments or tinctures with this herb, it is incredibly strong!

Thanks to this I avoided surgery and unbearable wrist pain: it’s worth a try and if you have a similar problem, I recommend this wholeheartedly!

I have been using it to rub on knees and wrists for a long time – I suffer from rheumatism and this really helped me. Mix 500 ml of Lesana with crushed aspirin and about five Aloe vera leaves, which you cut into pieces. Let it steep in the fridge and after three weeks you can use it for rubbing. It also helps for tennis elbow and carpal tunnel syndrome. Rub it on every evening before bed, and the doctor couldn’t believe that I hadn’t needed injections for so long.

I swear by a horseradish compress; it warms and acts against inflammation of joints and muscles. Grate horseradish onto gauze or cloth, apply to the specific joint or muscle areas that cause pain and cover with plastic wrap. This dressing is not only healing, but also helps relieve pain. A horseradish compress applied to the airways helps with inflammations and coughs.

My brother-in-law suggested ordinary cabbage leaves. We laughed at him, but it really works on knees. Dip the leaves in warm water for a few minutes, then dry and place between two pieces of plastic and roll over the surface several times with a rolling pin. This breaks the veins of the leaves and releases the healing substances. Then simply apply to the knees, cover with gauze, wrap and leave on overnight (but at least 3 hours). It’s also great for a swollen ankle.

When I need to warm up my joints I use curry spice, which also has anti-inflammatory effects. Mix 2 tablespoons of the spice and 100-150 ml of olive oil. Apply the paste to painful areas and leave it on. When you feel the pain easing, you can wash the paste off. If you don’t have curry spice at hand, cayenne is also excellent.

For sore knees I use a compress made from currant leaves. I boil about 30 blackcurrant leaves in 500 ml of water and let it steep for 15 minutes covered with a lid. Dip a cloth into the decoction, put the leaves on it, fold it and apply the hot compress to the knee. Cover with plastic and wrap with a warm towel. Leave the compress on overnight and repeat as needed.

Crush or chop horse chestnuts (15-20 pcs), pour alcohol or Alpa over them and let them steep for at least 1 month in the fridge or in a cupboard. I use it on wrists, knees, shoulders – wherever I feel pain.

Try this when you find cottage cheese past its expiration, otherwise you might curse me :-). Finely chop one onion or 5 cloves of garlic, mix with a block of cottage cheese, spread on the knees, wrap with plastic and a towel and leave for 2-3 hours. This compress also works for sore airways.

Healing rosemary ointment

We need:

  • approx. 250 g of pure ointment, petroleum jelly or coconut oil
  • chopped rosemary (about 2 handfuls),
  • a clean container for storage

Procedure:

Heat the lard (petroleum jelly rather in a water bath; lard or oil can be heated directly in a pot), but do not boil. Into the melted ointment base sprinkle the finely chopped rosemary tops. Let it cool and rest until the next day. Then heat again and strain through clean cloth so there are no pieces of herbs in the ointment. Immediately fill into a jar where the ointment will solidify. Store preferably in the fridge. Use as needed, but it’s good to always have it on hand, you’ll see for yourself!

Just pick marigold and pour oil over it – it’s amazing for joints

The effect of this “stinker”, as I call this little plant, will be appreciated especially by those who suffer from rheumatism or have aching joints and bones (after 60, that’s probably everyone). Just pick the blooming orange flower heads and cover them with ordinary cooking oil. I follow a ratio of 1 part flowers to 3 parts oil. Let it steep like this for 3 weeks. Use the oil to rub and massage sore joints, bones and muscles. If you want even faster pain relief, also add a decoction of the flowers to your bath. Pick the flowers in the evening and let them soak overnight in water. The next day heat on the stove, bring to a boil and pour into the bath (you can strain it or add it with the flowers).
