At first, televisions were placed in the living room inside some cabinet, most often the living-room one. Later the trend followed to place the television on a cabinet or TV stand and today most households have the television hung on the wall. The main reason is probably safety. When a TV hangs on the wall, children or household pets cannot knock it over onto themselves. At the same time, when the TV hangs on the wall, it saves a lot of space that can be used otherwise.
Today there are also adjustable mounts that allow you to position the TV so that you can watch it as well as possible. So watching a TV mounted on the wall is definitely not uncomfortable. When placing the TV it is necessary to pay attention to several factors at once:
- choose a suitable place
- also pay attention to the height at which you place the TV
- a proper wall mount
What is a suitable place to position the TV
Many of us don’t worry much about where to place the TV. However it is very important where you put it. You should place it so that you can watch it comfortably. To be able to see it, it should not be placed opposite a window. Also be careful not to watch the TV from too great a distance so you can see things. However, being too close is of course not right either; you could end up with serious eye problems.
How high to mount the TV
You cannot say exactly how high to mount the TV. Of course it depends on the height of the individual person. But we can say that we should look at the TV straight on. Tilting your head forward or backward will only lead to neck problems. Therefore place the TV on the wall or on a cabinet so that it is roughly at the height of your eyes.
Choosing the right wall mount is also key
To choose the right mount you need to know two pieces of information. The first of these is the weight, so that the mount has sufficient load capacity and you don’t have to collect the TV from the floor. The other piece of information you need to know is the spacing of the holes for attaching the mount to the TV. It is better to choose mounts that allow the TV to be tilted according to your needs. That way you will be able to adapt the TV for your children as well.
