It grows “on every corner”, we all know it, but do you know what its real effects are? This inconspicuous plant is known here mainly as a weed in vegetable gardens or as an inconspicuous plant from the meadow. Its name is shepherd’s purse and although it has almost been forgotten today, many generations before us considered it a medicinal miracle.
This inconspicuous plant owes its medicinal properties mainly to its content of sulforaphane, a compound with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects.
Maybe that’s also why it’s a folk remedy for speeding up wound healing.
The experiences of our ancestors say that you can also reach for it for headaches, bladder infections, digestive problems or sore throat.
