In recent times perhaps the most talked about topic has been the coronavirus pandemic. The infection is characterized by many symptoms. In addition, different symptoms are treated for varying lengths of time. If you in recent times have had a dry cough, a fever, a headache, difficulty breathing, or lost your sense of smell or taste, then you most likely had the infection. Some people had strong symptoms, so they could feel the symptoms more intensely. Conversely, some had only mild symptoms and therefore might not even have noticed that they had contracted Covid-19. Even if the course of their infection was mild, they could have infected other people, for whom the infection could have had a much more severe course. It is therefore necessary to behave responsibly and to look after your own safety and the safety of the people you come into contact with.
Symptoms of the common cold
If you had a cough, a runny nose, and a fever, it could have been just a cold, which can be treated with hot tea, aspirin, and 2–3 days of rest. However, these could also have been symptoms of coronavirus that had a mild course. You would, however, only find that out if you underwent an examination by a doctor.
Loss of smell and taste
This is one of the many symptoms, and its recovery takes several weeks. Even if it was only a partial loss, this symptom does not occur with other viral infections. Therefore you almost certainly had the infection.
Loss of appetite
Even if you are a big eater and love food, you may have been plagued by a reluctance to eat anything. Or you may have had a craving only for certain foods. Appetite returns gradually, and it takes some time. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, and drink a lot. This strengthens the immune system and the fluids flush viruses and their waste products out of the body.
Purple and red fingers
This symptom occurs in young people and children. Fingers swell and itch. After a while the discoloration disappears, as does the swelling, and everything returns to normal. If you had this problem, you most likely had coronavirus.
Eye problems
Conjunctivitis sometimes occurs in eye diseases. It is an unpleasant symptom, but if your doctor prescribes eye drops, it may not occur at all. Usually conjunctival inflammation, redness, or an eye twitch can also be added. Conjunctivitis is one of the consequences of coronavirus infection. So if you have conjunctivitis, you may still be infected.
Intestinal problems, nausea
Many infected people complain about these symptoms. The virus penetrates the digestive tract, and an imbalance of the intestinal microflora causes nausea and diarrhea.
Skin rash
The skin is the largest detoxification organ of the whole body. All manifestations of illness inside our body also show up on the surface. It may involve swelling, various rashes, or blisters. Do not underestimate these signs, and if you do not have other symptoms, get examined by your doctor. If you have other signs of the infection as well, you have had coronavirus. Here too, symptoms disappear over time. For each infected person it is different, however. The same goes for how long the symptoms last.
How long symptoms can occur
It is different for each infected person. Just as everyone has different symptoms, each person recovers over a different length of time. Some symptoms subside quickly, while others trouble us for a much longer period. Keep in mind that each symptom disappears in its own time. The very best outcome is, of course, not to get infected at all.
