Minced meat is a delicacy that can be prepared in many different ways. You can make Dutch schnitzels, meatballs, lasagna and many other tasty and interesting dishes from it. We would like to share with you a recipe for original schnitzels made from minced meat that will surely become your favorite lunch or even dinner.
Ingredients you will need
- minced meat 500 grams
- onion 1 piece
- eggs 3 pieces
- Gouda cheese 200 grams
- milk 150 milliliters
- flour 200 grams
- salt, marjoram, pepper
Preparation
Peel the onion and cut it into very fine pieces. Then prepare a bowl and put the onion and meat into it. Mix and add the lightly beaten eggs – mixing will then be easier. Add all the spices and mix again. Set the meat aside and prepare the hard cheese.
Step two
Take a grater and the cheese. Grate it coarsely and prepare the meat. Take some baking paper and place the meat on it, which you roll out or flatten into a patty. Once you have it spread out, sprinkle it with the grated cheese and roll the meat into a log. Now wrap it in baking paper so the roll keeps its shape and put it in the freezer for three hours.
Step three
You still have two eggs and flour left. So combine both ingredients and mix with a fork. This will create a batter with no lumps. If you want, you can season the batter to taste — for example with ketchup and mustard or marjoram, garlic or another of your favorite spices. Once you take the meat out of the freezer, cut it into slices and coat it in the prepared batter. Heat oil in a pan and place the coated meat into the hot oil. Fry on both sides until golden for a few minutes.
What to serve it with
As a side dish you can choose bread or roasted potatoes or mashed potatoes. If you don’t want to consume excess carbohydrates, you can choose iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and radishes as a side, which you drizzle with balsamic or olive oil.
