Intimate, romantic, calming atmosphere is best created by candles placed throughout the room. It doesn’t matter whether you prefer decorative, scented or plain ones; lighting through small flames is always unique. If you are candle lovers, you will surely agree. Today we’d like to save a few bucks and present a trick that can turn even an ordinary candle into an original piece.
Create your own design
The best thing about the whole trick is that you can create your own motif with the help of just a few simple tools. To enhance your candle, take any picture or photograph you want to transfer onto the candle. Also get some wax paper—nothing complicated—which should match the dimensions of the picture or photograph. So the only things you’ll need are these three tools:
- A picture or photograph of your choice
- Wax paper
- A hair dryer
Bring in the hair dryer
The first thing you must do is place the wax paper over the photograph and press both pieces together onto the candle. Now for the most important part – call in the hair dryer. Turn it on to the hot setting and get to work. Heat the wax paper with the photograph until you notice the design you chose beginning to transfer onto the candle.
An original gift
In this simple way you can create an original decoration or a gift for someone you know loves candles. You can choose any motif—there are no limits. It will catch every visitor’s eye and everyone will ask you how you made something like that.
Another tip for an unconventional gift with a photograph
But candles are not the only item suitable as a gift or decoration. Have you ever ironed wood? We believe you probably haven’t. Yet it’s a great idea for someone who adores wooden accessories. The process is just as simple as making a candle with your own motif. In this case, also choose your own picture or photograph, find a nice, flat wooden board and attach the photograph to it face down with adhesive tape. Now start ironing. Peel off a bit and check whether the motif has transferred sufficiently onto the wood. If it has, remove the photograph and you’re done.
