She took a small brush, toothpaste, and began making these movements. I'm doing it now too. Try it yourself.

Summer belongs to colors; more colorful clothes are worn, a more casual style, and generally more is allowed in fashion. Related to this is the fact that many women choose bolder shades of nail polish, often combining colors and needing to change them more frequently so they can match the nail color with a new outfit.

Frequent and complete removal of polish, however, is not at all easy. If you are looking for an easier method, we offer you the option of using toothpaste somewhat unconventionally to remove nail polish. Don’t believe it works? Try the instructions below and draw your own conclusion! This method is particularly effective in cases where you use glitter in addition to polish.

What you will need

Prepare:

  • toothpaste (any kind)
  • nail brush
  • liquid nail polish remover
  • Vaseline
  • natural lemon juice, and
  • wipes for removing nail polish.

How to use

First, apply some liquid remover to a wipe intended for removing nail polish (they are available in drugstores) and gently rub the surface of the nails to remove the top layer. Continue from one nail to the next and, if necessary, replace the wipe with a new one and moisten it again with remover.

Then coat your nails with Vaseline for protective reasons. In a bowl, mix a little warm water, the juice from half a lemon and a small amount of toothpaste, and use this mixture and the nail brush to remove the polish. Lemon juice has not only cleansing but also whitening effects. It is therefore not an essential ingredient of this mixture intended for removing nail polish, but its use can only be recommended.

The advantage of this removal method is that the polish peels off the hands completely and the remaining polish does not have to be removed by, for example, scraping it off. It is thus a process that is much gentler on the nails and their sensitive surface.

When the removal is successfully completed, wash your hands with warm running water and treat them with Vaseline to hydrate the nails and surrounding cuticles.
