Gray hair usually signifies aging, but it often begins to appear even at a young age between 20 and 30 years.
Men with gray hair generally don’t worry about it too much. For women, however, grays are currently unacceptable. This cosmetic problem is why almost every woman addresses it by coloring her hair.
Hold on a moment!
Before you dye your hair at home again or decide to visit a hairdresser and spend a lot of money, try this alternative. We have a simple way for you to color your hair naturally. And that without the need to use harmful or foul-smelling chemicals.
The substances in commercial hair dyes, with long-term use, harm not only your hair but also your scalp and lungs when you inhale their fumes.
It may seem a bit strange, but potato water can really effectively tint hair.
Preparation instructions
- Proceed by adding roughly one 2.5 dl glass of potato peels to 0.5 liter of water and bring to a boil in a pot with a lid.
- Simmer the peels in the water over low heat for about 5 minutes. Then remove the pot from the stove and let it cool.
- After cooling, strain the water through a sieve. You will be left with brown potato water.
Application
- Then, using a wide-toothed comb, hair brush or brush, apply the water to your hair. For better results it is advisable to repeat this procedure several times.
Detailed procedure and immediate results can also be found in the attached video below (in English). And if you happen not to understand English, it doesn’t matter. Here is a summary of the most important points from the video:
- First wash your hair normally with shampoo.
- After washing, rinse them with water and towel-dry them slightly (not completely dry).
- Then begin applying the potato water to your hair.
- Some people pour the potato water into an empty shampoo bottle and then simply pour it into their palm and apply it to the hair that way.
- Let the potato water act for a few minutes, then you can rinse your hair again (but you don’t have to, because potato water neither smells nor is sticky).
Of course, with this recipe you won’t be able to choose an exact color shade for your hair, but the resulting streaks will reliably mask gray hairs.
