Scammers often call people from “premium numbers”. The cost of the call is very high and there is also an add-on that prevents the call from being disconnected. Now scammers have taken it a step further.
What such a scam looks like
It all starts with what appears to be a normal conversation. At the beginning they’ll only ask you “Can you hear me?”.
In this case you should be on guard.
When an unknown phone number calls you and you hear the question: “Can you hear me” – hang up immediately!
You must not say YES
Under no circumstances say “yes”! It is a scam!
Scammers record the conversation so they can later use the answer “yes” to claim that you agreed to the offer.
Be careful — under no circumstances say “Yes”.
