Scientists have come up with an alarming finding. A common item that we all touch daily may increase the risk of cancer, infertility and other serious health problems …

A team of foreign scientists from the University of Granada arrived at troubling findings. An item we commonly touch every day can cause us health problems and, with long-term exposure, can increase the risk of developing cancer or infertility.

At first glance innocent receipts from cash registers are, according to the latest research, full of chemicals. You wouldn’t believe that the slips we come into contact with every day can really have a negative impact on health.

Toxic item

The dangerous item is, in fact, an ordinary cash register receipt that you take after each purchase. It is made of thermal paper, often containing BPA (bisphenol A). You can tell a receipt contains BPA when the printed text fades completely over time. This dangerous substance was examined on 112 receipts from Brazil, Spain and France in various stores.

The dangerous receipts are especially those that fade over time and whose text becomes unreadable. Cashiers who hold them most often are, of course, at the greatest risk.

You can partially protect yourself from the harmful effects of receipts on health. You should never put the papers next to food, nor should you write notes on them. They should also not be stored in the car, wallet or handbag. “Simply minimize contact with them,” explains Professor Nicolás Oleo.
