Drinking too much coffee, smoking, or irregular tooth brushing causes yellowing of our tooth enamel. There are several whitening toothpastes on the market that, in most cases, are just unnecessarily overpriced, because the effect never appears at all. That is why we want to show you various alternatives with which you can replace these whitening toothpastes.
White and radiant smile
If you long for a beautiful white smile, you have effective helpers literally right under your nose. Just look around at home and you will find that you can have white teeth immediately.
Cloves
This spice is used as an effective remedy for toothaches. It also fights microbes in the mouth. Crush cloves (or buy ready-made powder), add a little olive oil and apply the mixture to stains. A great tip is regularly chewing a clove to remove bad breath and kill bacteria. Try it instead of regular chewing gum.
Baking soda and salt
Baking soda has a strong antibacterial agent that helps remove dental plaque. That is why it is ideal for cleaning teeth. Just mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with a pinch of salt. Then dip a damp toothbrush into it. However, it is important that you do not repeat this more than once a week, because you can seriously damage your tooth enamel.
Orange peel
In general, all citrus peels contain acid. That means they help remove stains on the enamel. Just rub your teeth with the white part of the peel for 2-3 minutes. You can repeat this process several times a week.
Lemon juice
Lemon juice not only removes plaque but also perfectly whitens teeth. For better effect, try using juice directly from the peel. Dip a toothbrush into the lemon juice and gently brush over your teeth. Then rinse well. Be careful, however, because lemon juice is a very strong substance. Repeat it only once over a long period.
Sesame seeds
Take a full handful of sesame seeds into your mouth and mix them well. Create a consistency similar to toothpaste in your mouth. Then use this created toothpaste with a dry toothbrush. Repeat twice a week.
Hydrogen peroxide and mouthwash
Like mouthwash, hydrogen peroxide also has an antimicrobial effect. Just mix 1 teaspoon of antiseptic mouthwash with three teaspoons of a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution. Gargle it for several minutes and finally rinse your mouth with clean water.
Strawberries and tomatoes
If citrus is too harsh for your teeth, strawberries and tomatoes are an ideal alternative. Just choose one of them, take out the flesh and apply it to your teeth. After 5 minutes, rinse your mouth.
Coconut oil
Put 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil in your mouth and swish it around for 10-15 minutes. Then spit it out and rinse your mouth with warm water.
Aloe vera and glycerin
Mix 1 tablespoon of Aloe vera, 4 teaspoons of vegetable glycerin, 10 drops of lemon essential oil and 4 tablespoons of baking soda in a cup with water. Stir it until the consistency resembles toothpaste. With this created paste, brush your teeth once a day. If you notice any significant changes, it is enough to do it once every 3 to 4 days.
