Rýmovník, also known by its Latin name Plectranthus, is an amazing plant with many useful properties. You may also encounter it under names like Mexican eucalyptus, Greek eucalyptus, or Spanish thyme. In our region, however, we most often know it as rýmovník. This plant not only smells wonderful but can also repel mosquitoes, flies and other nuisance insects. Additionally, it has a number of health benefits, especially for colds and respiratory issues.
How does rýmovník repel insects?
Rýmovník contains a high amount of essential oils that have a strong repellent effect on insects. Simply place it on a windowsill or near windows and unwanted visitors like mosquitoes and flies will steer clear of your home. If you want to boost the effect, you can make a natural repellent from this herb that is safe for the whole family.
