Simple facial mask made from ordinary rice is applied to the face once a week. It benefits the skin thanks to the nutrients contained in the rice.
Rice is full of nutrients
Rice contains, for example, linoleic acid and squalene, which is a powerful antioxidant, stimulates collagen production and is a common ingredient in cosmetic products. Collagen works against wrinkle formation and protects the skin from damage by the sun’s rays. Rice is rich in proteins, vitamins B1, B2, B3, minerals and gamma oryzanol, which protects the heart and lowers blood cholesterol levels. In Japan, rice has been widely used for thousands of years not only as a staple food but also for cosmetic purposes. And when it comes to skin rejuvenation, it is considered miraculous.
How to make a rice mask
Not only smoothing wrinkles and overall firming of the skin, but also evening out and brightening the natural healthy skin tone — all this this simple mask can provide us.
Cook the rice in water, then strain the water and the rice separately. About 3 tablespoons of rice should be enough for one mask. Let the rice cook until very soft, stirring regularly so it does not burn. Mix a tablespoon of milk and a tablespoon of honey into the soft rice.
Apply the mask to a clean, dry face, neck and décolletage. Wait until the mixture completely dries. Then rinse the mask off with the water left from cooking the rice. This rice water again has antioxidant properties and stimulates blood circulation. It also helps reduce age spots and heal small skin inflammations. You can also rinse the skin with rice water before sunbathing – it hydrates the skin and protects it from the formation of new wrinkles.
Try to repeat this procedure once a week. After a few weeks visible results should appear.
Other common foods that are popular for making homemade facial masks include cottage cheese and yogurts, olive oil, yeast, avocado or egg.
