Preparation procedure
- Wash and pit the plums.
- Cook the potatoes in their skins, peel them while still hot and press them into a bowl.
- Add the coarse flour, salt, egg and knead well into a firmer dough.
- Cut small pieces from the dough, flatten them on a floured work surface (or plate), insert a plum and wrap it up.
- Drop the dumplings into a large amount of water with a pinch of salt and cook for about 7 minutes.
- Place the cooked dumplings on prepared plates, sprinkle with sugar and poppy seeds and pour over melted butter.
- Instead of poppy seeds you can use grated gingerbread or cinnamon and garnish with sour cream or whipped cream.
